The Decision

Client: European Union in Albania

“Vendimi” is the story of a woman in an unhappy, abusive relationship. Conflicted by guilt and social conforms, she reflects on her decision to leave her husband at an old age. Her narrative explores the social imposition of a wife’s and a woman’s duty, as well as how we dismiss any form of abuse that’s not physical.

I illustrated and animated all the frames, on the tightest deadline, while trying to fit small mental health breaks, because these kind of stories give me heartburn.
